You'll operate powerful equipment to keep commercial properties and roads in North Syracuse safe, clear, and accessible during snow and ice events. Experienced operators are welcome, and we offer paid equipment training for salt truck operators, with no salt truck experience required. Snow doesn't follow a 9-to-5 schedule, and neither do we! This position requires flexibility to respond to snow and ice events at any time, including overnight, weekends, and holidays. When called in, employees should be prepared to work shifts of up to 12 hours, depending on weather conditions and operational needs. You will not be working around the clock, but you must be available when winter weather hits. Qualifications • Available on-call 24/7 during snow events, including overnight, weekends, and holidays • Able to work shifts of up to 12 hours when called in • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL is a plus) • Experience running equipment (agricultural, construction, snow, or trucking), or willingness to learn with paid salt truck training • Dependable, team-focused, and ready to roll when the snow hits • Strong commitment to safety for yourself, your equipment, and the public • Able to work independently and as part of a team in high-pressure situations • Comfortable braving the cold and getting the job done right Ready to keep North Syracuse moving when the snow flies?
