Outdoor Lighting Service Technician

Pay: $22–$25/hour starting pay, depending on experience | 5% commission on qualifying new lighting, additions, upgrades, and systems generated | 10% commission on new Annual Maintenance Plans | 100% of tips kept by the technician | $55,000–$70,000+ expected earning potential Schedule: Full-Time | Scheduled service appointments | Independent field work Location: Tampa Bay, FL and surrounding service areas This position is a great fit for mechanically inclined technicians with experience in landscape lighting, low-voltage electrical, irrigation, HVAC, pool service, security systems, landscaping, or other residential service trades who enjoy troubleshooting, working with homeowners, and being rewarded for performance. Why You’ll Love This Job • $55K–$70K+ earning potential • Keep 100% of the tips you receive • Dedicated company service van • Tools, equipment, and stocked service inventory provided • Scheduled appointments • Established customer base • Hourly pay plus commission opportunities • Training provided • Work with homeowners who already know and trust the company • No cold calling or door knocking • Opportunity to increase your income by identifying customer needs and generating additional business What You’ll Be Doing • Diagnose and repair low-voltage outdoor lighting systems • Perform scheduled Annual Maintenance Plan visits • Inspect complete lighting systems rather than focusing only on the immediate issue • Clean, adjust, and maintain lighting fixtures • Troubleshoot wiring, transformers, timers, controls, and fixtures • Keep your service van clean, organized, and properly stocked • Document completed work with photos and detailed service notes • Communicate professionally with homeowners • Identify opportunities to improve or expand existing lighting systems • Recommend lighting additions, upgrades, replacements, and maintenance plans • Sell Annual Maintenance Plans • Identify larger opportunities and refer them to the sales/design team You Get Paid for Creating Opportunities This is not a high-pressure sales position. We want technicians who pay attention to the entire property and recognize opportunities that could genuinely benefit the customer. If you notice an area that would look better with additional lighting, an aging system that should be upgraded, or a customer who would benefit from ongoing maintenance, we expect you to make the recommendation. And we’ll pay you for it. You’ll earn: • 5% commission on qualifying new lighting, additions, upgrades, and systems you generate • 10% commission on new Annual Maintenance Plans you sell • 100% of your tips Great technicians who take care of customers and recognize opportunities should have the ability to earn more than an hourly wage. We’re looking for someone who: • Is reliable, mechanically inclined, and takes pride in their work • Enjoys troubleshooting and working independently • Communicates professionally with homeowners • Is organized and takes care of tools and equipment • Notices opportunities and can make helpful recommendations • Has a strong work ethic, ownership mindset, and desire to grow • Can safely perform physical field work • Has a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record Experience in landscape lighting, electrical, irrigation, HVAC, pool service, security systems, landscaping, or another residential service trade is a plus.
