About the Job
The Nest at Anderson Mill is seeking a passionate, experienced Montessori Lead Teacher to join our Montessori community. Our Primary program serves children ages 3–6, and we're looking for an educator who understands that Montessori is more than a curriculum. It's a way of seeing and supporting the child. The ideal candidate has hands-on Montessori classroom experience, understands the importance of a carefully prepared environment, and loves helping children develop independence, concentration, confidence, and a genuine love of learning.

What You'll Do
• Lead a Montessori Primary classroom for children ages 3–6 with confidence, warmth, and intentionality
• Prepare and maintain a thoughtfully organized prepared environment that invites independence, exploration, and purposeful work
• Give authentic, developmentally appropriate Montessori presentations and support children in choosing and completing meaningful work
• Observe children closely and use those observations to understand each child's needs, interests, development, and readiness
• Support children in developing independence, concentration, practical life skills, grace and courtesy, and self-confidence
• Create a peaceful, respectful classroom community where children feel safe, valued, and capable
• Maintain consistent routines while allowing freedom and responsibility appropriate to each child's developmental stage
• Model respectful communication and positive conflict resolution
• Maintain classroom records, observations, and required documentation
• Build strong relationships with children and families, and communicate thoughtfully about each child's experiences and progress
• Work closely with classroom assistants and the administrative team to ensure consistency and quality of care
• Maintain a safe, clean, orderly, and inviting classroom
• Follow The Nest's policies, Montessori practices, and Texas childcare licensing requirements

Qualifications
• Hands-on experience working within a Montessori environment
• Previous Montessori Primary classroom experience strongly preferred
• AMI, AMS, or other recognized Montessori Primary credential preferred
• Experience working with children ages 3–6
• Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy and the adult's role as guide and observer
• Experience preparing and maintaining a Montessori classroom environment
• Able to give Montessori lessons and follow each child's progression through the materials
• Genuine respect for children and belief in their ability to become independent, capable learners
• Patient, calm, nurturing, and dependable
• Strong observation, classroom management, and communication skills
• Able to work collaboratively with an assistant and the larger school team
• Professional, respectful communication with families
• Willing to keep learning and growing as a Montessori educator
• Able to meet Texas childcare licensing, background check, and employment requirements
